Children and Young People

We long to see our children and young people develop and grow up inspired and filled with the Holy Spirit. Our vision is to work alongside parents to see children and young people become fully devoted to God. Groups are packed full of worship, laughter and learning. This ministry is made possible by a team of DBS checked volunteers.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday 9.30am

Junior Church

Takes place on the first Sunday of each month during the 9.30am service and is for primary school aged children. The children learn about God and also enjoy time together doing crafts.

Sunday 11.15am

Sparklers

Sparklers is for children pre-primary and uses resources provided by Scripture Union. The group has a bible study and craft. There is also lots of time and space to play. Parents have the choice of staying with their children or going back into the service.

Sunday 11.15am

Rock N Roll

Rock N Roll is for children primary school ages. As with all things at St Catharine's it is biblically based, like Sparklers, following the material provided by Scripture Union. The group gives children the chance to learn and socialise together, growing both themselves and their relationship with God. There is also lots of games and running around. The first Sunday of each month is our All Age Worship. We meet as a church family and worship, pray and learn together.

Youth Groups

We have two youth groups CCYG for school years 6 to 9 and NRG for school years 10 to 13.

Sunday 9.30am

CCYG

CCYG is a youth group for children in school years 6 to 9. Meeting every Sunday evening each week is a lot of fun often involving running around games and just being silly. Part of the evening is serious with the bible slot where we look at the bible and its impact on our lives today.

Sunday 11.15am

NRG

NRG is for anyone who is in school years 10 to 13. The friendly group meet every Friday in term time alternating each week between bible studies and socials. The bible studies are suitable for all either looking at the basics of the christian faith or addressing head on issues that matter to young people. The socials are a lot of fun from Nerf fights and scalextric in church to walking into town to get chips. The bible studies and socials are driven by the group so if you have an idea let us know.

Fridays 6pm

GFS

Girls Friendly Society meet in the church hall on Friday evenings 6:30pm - 8pm during term time, welcoming girls aged 6 years+. Evenings are spent trying our hand at just about anything from glass painting to karaoke and sewing to treasure hunts.
