Warm Welcome

We seek to be a church that offers a warm welcome to all. We are a diverse church with people across all age groups, ethnic, socio-economic and educational backgrounds, with visible and hidden disabilities, and who are single, married, in blended families and in divided families. Our hope is that all can find a place to gather and grow, be able to offer and use our gifts and go out to be living connections with Jesus in our lifeplaces.

On a Wednesday morning, we have a drop-in space where lots of different things happen. English lessons (a lot of refugees and asylum seekers join these), knit and natter, playing games, warm space to talk and have hot drinks and cakes, a foodbank hub and signposting to local support services. Throughout the week the church building is open mainly in the mornings (Sunday to Thursday), we have a fully accessible Changing Places toilet for adults. On a Sunday morning at 1030 many adults from social care settings join worship with their carers.

We are part of the Welcome Churches network for refugees and asylum seekers and run a Farsi discipleship group each week.

The second Sunday of every month there is a free church lunch which anyone can come to, and we have regular social gatherings throughout the year. More details about what is happening each week can be found here: News.
